CleanClac or Turno in 2026: the honest comparison

Turno is the name that comes up as soon as you look for a tool to organise cleaning for short-term rentals. It’s the oldest, the most established, and claims 9.7 million cleans completed through its platform. Let’s be clear: at the core, both tools do the same thing. The difference lies elsewhere, in the business model and in what remains when a guest disputes the cleanliness of your property. This comparison is based on public facts about both products, checked in August 2026, without rounding off anything inconvenient.

The common ground, and it’s broad

When it comes to basic functions, there’s no winner, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. Both tools can:

• Read your calendars from Airbnb, Booking, Vrbo and any iCal feed, and create a clean for every guest departure.
• Connect to your PMS, with direct connectors to the main players on the market.
• Assign the clean to a team member automatically, with no manual intervention.
• Send a checklist with supporting photos.
• Report incidents and consumable status from the field.
• Work on mobile as well as browser, with integrated messaging.

If that’s all you need, either will do. The choice comes down to the next three points.

First difference: two opposite business models

Turno charges per property, and also takes a cut for matchmaking. Its public pricing, in dollars: one property is free; properties are even unlimited and free as long as you only work with cleaners found via its marketplace. As soon as you invite your own cleaner for a second property, your account moves to $10 per month per property, or $96 per year per property on the annual plan, which is $8 per month. Add to that a 5% commission on every payment made via the marketplace, card fees on transactions, and ACH transfer only for US accounts.

CleanClac charges per portfolio, and nothing else. On the annual plan: €4.99 per month for one property, then a tier up to three, another up to five, and €2 per month per property beyond that. Cleaners are unlimited and free, for life. There’s no commission on what you pay your team, because the money doesn’t go through us.

This opposition explains everything else, including the cases where Turno wins.

What this means in euros and dollars

Turno’s prices are in dollars and ours in euros: the comparison is indicative, not exact. Check turno.com/pricing before deciding, as their prices have already increased between 2024 and 2026.

It’s simple: For one property, Turno is free and we’re not. From five properties with your own team, the gap swings clearly the other way.

Second difference: what remains after the clean

Both tools ask for photos at the end of the clean. What happens to them is different.

With CleanClac, every photo and video is timestamped by the server, with the file’s digital fingerprint and the location at the time of check-in. Neither the cleaner nor the manager can backdate a proof or swap in another after the fact. On-site check-in is geolocated, the real cleaning duration is recorded, and the cleaner notes the property’s state on arrival.

This is a difference in kind, not just degree. A photo taken from the phone’s gallery proves a property was clean one day; a server-timestamped photo proves it was clean that day, at that time, at that address. When a guest claims a refund for a property they say was dirty, that’s the only thing that settles it.

Third difference: finding someone, or working with your own team

This is where Turno is ahead, by a long way.

Turno claims over 126,000 cleaners specialising in short-term rentals. You post a request, local cleaners get a notification and send you quotes. In the US, they go through a background check. The platform then pays your cleaner for you, including automatically, in 26 currencies. For a host with no one and who doesn’t want to make any payments themselves, that’s a hard argument to beat.

Two caveats, both documented: the network is mainly US-based, there’s no official list of covered countries, and selection is passive, you can’t freely browse profiles.

CleanClac offers a free matchmaking service, within a set radius of the property, but without the density of a network that size. And we don’t pay your cleaner for you: you pay them as you do now. If your number one need is to find someone tomorrow morning without lifting a finger, Turno does that better than us.

What CleanClac brings to the table

• Illustrated checklists per property, drawn from a catalogue of around 200 tasks sorted by section: cleaning, finishing touches, linen, restocking, comfort, special touches.

So, which one?

Choose Turno if you have just one property, you need to find a cleaner and have no one, you want the platform to pay your team for you, or you operate in the US.

Choose CleanClac if you already have your team, your portfolio is more than three or four properties, you operate in Europe, you want end-of-clean proof that can’t be backdated, or your cleaners don’t speak English.
